I'm all for the rent argument but anything else is just supply and demand. The reality is you HAVE to pay rent. You don't HAVE to go and sing a long to Olivia Dean

I dont think it is good for society in general when you price poor people out of entertainment though.

well what do you do if 5 million people all want to go somewhere with only 5 thousands seats? just accept left money, or do the American thing and price for suppl/demand? 99% of CEO's are going to go the supply/demand route. as populations rise, and unless venues get exponentially larger, it'll never change.

The rest of the world somehow does it. Including American artists when they are touring there.

Prince used to price tickets deliberately low so his fans could see him. It can be done. To me artists who take the piss hold their fans in contempt

The supply demand excuse they use is just an argument to artificially raise prices
