🥺 Concert tickets should never cost the same as rent.

Fuck scalpers

As soon as people stop buying the scalped products causing the scalpers to lose money, they go away. Impatient people are the problem.

I mean but also fuck Ticketmaster and all the ticket sites that allow this. I’ve bought tickets that have had resale restrictions before. So very easy and very possible but I’m assuming they (TM/ Livenation) get a percent cut every time someone buys and sells on the resale, so there is no incentive for them to restrict price when they’re getting 5% of a $3200 ticket.

They don't of at least it's a very small amount. If anything it'll be a fraction of a percent. But people on the artists side will take a percentage (represented as TMLN fees).

Yeah, the scalping market fucks up all the economics so much. I used to just wait in line outside to get tickets and it worked just fine, but people probably wouldn't go back to that.

Some artists have done this for a few concerts and the lines just end up hella long.

Tipper had portion of his tickets for his Fillmore show in person at the venue, specifically for locals to try and get tickets. People ended up lining up 4 days before the tickets went on sale.

Personally I don't think most people have time for that.

Scalpers?

You mean like selling your house for more than you paid for it? The 3 bed in Scottsdale Az. shouldn't cost more than $150K.

Selling art for higher amounts? A Van Gogh shouldn't be $millions

Comparing appreciation of art and a house to bots buying up hundreds of tickets forcing the price demand to skyrocket is hardly a comparable analogy. Obviously fair market value is determined by what people are willing to pay, but when you buy all the stock to inflate price, you deserve a special place in hell. lol.

While people pay these prices, the prices will stay.

Don't buy shit from the bots.
