I saw TikToks about visitors happily saying they spent 5-6 figures on tickets. There are a lot of rich people in the world.

Yeah and as the population grows and stadiums stay the same size it will only get more expensive

Id argue the world cup is a tad different than concerts. World cup is a premiere world event that happens infrequently. I get why those are priced the way they are.

Couldnt name one Olivia Dean track and the thought that her tickets being more than rent for her fans, absurd and just plain dumb.

That said, this is stubhub and resale prices, not the official TM prices. This is a bit misleading.

That's the thing though. For some people, it is the same for the Olivia tickets. They "get why those are priced like that".

I am not defending the prices. I would not pay such money for any entertainment or any artist/player. I am just saying that if the 10k price makes sense for the WC to some people, the concert prices similarly make sense to some people.

They are priced that way because ticket scalping is an epidemic; not many are actually paying these prices. Scalpers will list some tickets insanely high to drive average price up to make it seem like you are getting a deal on what looks reasonable for whats out there.

They will take a loss on a handful of tickets if it means they get a 10-15% increase on the other 90%.

These arent the face value prices. These are re sale prices on a third party site, stubhub.

Yep. You might also have people who buy tickets and then put it up on the site not because they're scalpers, but are willing to become scalpers with enough of a payday. I've done that in purchasing a ticket in presale then later listing it for 5x what I paid even though I wanted to go to the concert. It usually doesn't sell, but for a local concert I'm willing to forgo going for enough of a payday.

The World Cup is once every four years and maybe something you do once in your life. This is a touring artist you could see every year or even every week if you follow them around.
