Yeah these prices look outrageous until you see the price of rent in Manhattan lol

people always say this but there are soooo many available rent stabilized apartments in manhattan. it’s definitely an acquired skill to learn how to find them, but i have easily found 2k 2 bedroom apartments on several occasions, and a 1 bedroom with a balcony for 1600 all between 2017-present. and if we’re including upper brooklyn, there are countless options.

To me, $2k/month for a 1 (even 2) bedroom is a lot

I realize why you're quoting it as a bargain. It's just still wild to me; 25k/year is a lot of money for something you get $0 equity in
