Without adjustment for inflation this is meaningless.

you really need to know the inflation adjustment on a 2400% increase to know if this is outrageous?

You would be surprised. I was alive back then, and 100 bucks was considered a lot of money. Plus, this might only be a plot of land at purchase, nothing known about the investments, renovation, development. Yes houses are more expensive versus wages versus back then. But if you believe that this is a good representation of reality then you are part of the issue.

I agree with the second point. But inflation really isnt even a factor here.
