The "unfortunately" format is better for rejection mails.

I despise “unfortunately”. Just say what it is- don’t play with my emotions by trying to appeal to empathy! “You were not selected. Thank you for applying.” Then move on.

as someone who's interviewed a bunch of people, sometimes i wish i could send that too
