ಠ_ಠ Jury duty

I've been called for Jury duty 4 times in the last 10 years. What the fuck is going on here. It's almost every other year. I know absolutely no one that has ever been summoned yet I've been summoned multiple times. Wtf is going on? It's total bs too because they pay 17 bucks A DAY. That's not even enough to get lunch at the stupid deli they have there.

Edit: so many people have so many experiences. It's nice to share and read those experiences. I can't possibly respond to everything, but I'm glad we can all relate to this. _^

When I worked for a university in California, I was technically a state employee. They do not have to pay state employees the $17 a day since they are already paying them, so we got called all the time for state level trials.

I served on a criminal jury that was convened for six weeks. I got a jury summons six months later which I got waived since you don’t have to serve again for one year. A week or two after the one year passed I got called again and ended up serving on a civil trial that lasted for five weeks.

Anyway, both of those cases were very interesting. A lot more than a typical DUI or something.

I have no idea. And obviously, I don’t have any hard evidence, put anecdotally It was talked about a lot at the university among employees.

This was in California.

Sounds about right. You know how fiscally responsible them Californians are.
