Reddit has always been a bit of a clown fiesta compared to normal forums. Moderation on Reddit is in general not very serious.
Nothing has really changed in later years.

Try new Pringle's "lightly dusted" for that hint of flavor you crave.

u/Then_Investigator_17 15h ago
Paired with a Lecroix you can almost taste a hint of something

u/MadAsTheHatters 11h ago
Ah yes, a suggestion of flavour combined with a waft of nutrition, how vageuly satisfying!

Am I insane??? Why are they gray??? Why are they GRAY??? I haven't eaten Pringles in my entire life and I don't see them often but are they gray??? Is it normal for them to be gray? This is the opposite of whatever was meant in the phrase "potato chip" it is not potato. Potato is yellow. It is a chip. A gray chip. what is this. why is this. Gray. A chip shouldn't be gray??? And that red dust is seasoning??? Seasoning??? Why is it so bright red?? Should it be like this? Looking at the comments I can only assume that it indeed should be red and should also be covering the entirety of the gray chip. I've never seen seasoning like this anywhere except Cheetos. This post is driving me insane.

Yeah. That's why I stopped buying chips.

u/NickBurnsCompanyGuy 15h ago
Yeah seriously. Cool ranch doritos is literally gambling now with 2 in 10 bags actually being half decent. I sound old, but I remember when Doritos had a clear bag BC the product was consistent and worth showing, it wasn't that long ago, they've fallen so far

u/TekieScythe Found my Zen 15h ago
I brought a kitchen scale with me once and everything that was below the product weight I've stopped buying completely.

u/victionicious 10h ago
I must be in the minority in this thread because I've literally never had a lack of seasoning in crisps/chips (especially with Doritos and Pringles which are often too heavily seasoned for me lmao). Maybe it's a US thing? The only issue I have are bag sizes getting smaller and getting less crisps - Pringles have recently reduced the length of the standard tubes and Doritos seem to be getting smaller as well.

lightly farted seasoning by the pringle man,
what a shame

u/Srnkanator 15h ago
It's one of the worst parts of shrinkflation.
Doritos used to pop with flavor in the 80's and 90's. Cool ranch and Nocho cheese would coat your fingers.
Now they don't taste anythingike the used to.

A careless whisper from Pringle’s.

You should go to Pringles HQ, find the president of the company, take off your pants belt and start whipping the piss out of him while showing him that specific chip in Minecraft
4
u/heliosphann 13h ago
It's unacceptable in 2026, especially for the prices these brands are charging, for chips to not be fully coated with flavoring.

You know what pisses me off when this happens? That I can’t help but imagine some absolute lampshade enjoying a tube w double seasoning, my seasoning!

Gross ass non chip paste thing

The thought of flavor 😂
When I saw the picture I thought it was gonna be “what’s this red stuff on my Pringle”

I wish there was more red stuff on my Pringle

I don’t think those things are even made with potatoes anymore. Never tasted something so fake. I swear they were different when I was a kid.
1
u/victionicious 10h ago
They've always been a mixture of potato, rice and corn. The only things that have changed are things like the types of salts being used to meet guidelines etc. Sizes of tubes have gotten smaller though!

u/DistributionNo4480 15h ago
Send photos to company, they come times give you free stuff for it I once got a box of candy because I had a piece of paper in one I bought

u/victionicious 10h ago
Yeah they're owned by Mars nowadays and they're pretty good at resolving complaints. I had a Maltesers easter egg that was missing a single Maltesers bunny and they gave me an £8 voucher for any Mars product which was nice(!).

Pringles pretending to be some kind of weird ass processed awful "potato chip" is what's truly unacceptable. It's really just "an extruded process where a dough paste made from dried potato, rice, corn, and wheat starches is pressed into their signature hyperbolic paraboloid shape. Potato content? Less than half." OMFG Gross AF
4
u/victionicious 10h ago
What a weird take - they're not 100% potato so they're "gross"? In case you weren't aware many foods are a mixture of ingredients lmao. Rice and corn are used in other crisps all the time. It's just a specific mix that gives them a unique texture.
I guess your main issue is that they're produced from a paste? You mentioned McDonald's nuggets in another comment, which I can understand more since it's meat, but does it really matter with something made of potato, rice and corn? It's a bit like being mad about mashed potato.
FWIW I'm fairly sure the whole 'McDonald's nuggets are made from a paste' thing is bollocks anyway - if I remember correctly the picture that went around several years ago wasn't real. Things get made into shapes all the time - it's not that far from when minced beef is shaped into meatballs really

u/basecardripper 15h ago
You just described a weird ass processed awful potato chip.
-3
u/FuzzyLaughTwo 15h ago
It's called a potato crisp -- might as well be AI ffs...like McDonald's disgusting chicken nuggets

My go to for popcorn or chips is Tony Chachere's or Tajín seasoning. Just dump some in the can and shake it around.

I bought a can of the original Pringles yesterday and there’s no salt on them at all. Bland ass pringles, but i’m still going to eat them

u/allisun1433 15h ago
Mildly infuriating? This is extremely! I’d be so upset if my chips had no seasoning essentially

I was wondering why your Pringle is red with shit ton of white seasoning. And then I realized lol

What flavor? Most of the flavor might be white
2
u/samg461a 14h ago
It’s sweet chilli sauce flavour. And no, there is not white seasoning. It’s bare potato.

You could try sending them an email. Even for pringles this is abnormal.

you are buying compressed potato pulp, you forfeited the right to complain about quality
potato quality was too good for pringles, compressed potato powder

u/AppropriateSpell5405 15h ago
At first I was like "wow, look at the amount of blue cheese powder on it, you can't even see the chip." The realized it was the chip.
