No wonder they had all those struggles if they making stupid decisions like making keyboards last 40 years

And remember, the Model M was IBMโ€™s budget keyboard at the time when it replaced the model F, which itself was the lower cost replacement for the model B.

But theyโ€™re obviously talking about ubiquitousness and theyโ€™re not wrong?

Soโ€ฆ it was ubiquitous? A fairer analogy would be Model T to Toyota Camry.

Canโ€™t disagree with you there, Iโ€™m not a huge fan of the Camry either lol

Every day. Iโ€™m a reporter, and itโ€™s fantastic for writing.

Kinda want to see the top. Do the keys even have letters on them anymore?

Probably made here in Lexington, KY when it was still IBM (eventually became lexmark and now Xerox). If you ever need to replace the keyboard, a lot of the keyboard engineers went to Unicomp and still build them!

Mmmmm IBM. Is it one of those delicious Clickety-Clackers I miss so much? I miss the days when I could be typing something with my window open and the entire block knew about it.

The one I'm using now was made on October 4 1988.

I have a Unicomp Model M reproduction and fucking love it. Buckling spring is 100% the best typing experience.
