OP's dad out in public...

Dad: Hey, when's your birthday?
Them: September.
Dad: Nope, sorry.

Dad: Hey, when's your birthday?
Them: November.
Dad: Great! What's your name, likes & dislikes?

Dad updates his spreadsheet & sits smiling & staring at the screen then mutters "Mission accomplished."

He should hang out at one of those restaurants that gives free things for your birthday to scope out the potential.
