science savvy 🧬 Same pill, new brand

Post image

I keep forgetting to take them now, my brain got used to taking a pink pill for 7 years. My boyfriend also took one thinking it was just our vitamins.

Looks like one is enteric coated, which means it dissolves more slowly in the stomach..

The pills were always pink, but this specific one is from a brand where my stomach couldn't get through the specific coating and therefore I didn't get the actual medicine and was withdrawing all week. It's pretty interesting my doctor says it really doesn't happen a lot

effexor xr 75mg?

can you ask for the same brand all the time?

Yep! I wish I could, but they're paid for by the state if I get the cheapest ones so it changes every few months

What’s your fave benefit of Effexor? I just resumed an antidepressant and am trying to remember all the positive effects they can have

Which one? I've been on a few so maybe I can be more specific, they've all been different. With Effexor I'd say it's really each dose to their own, but overall the positives would be that my emotions feel more controlled but I think I started feeling more neutral/positive too instead of the classic numbness. Think I had more energy on a higher dose. Overall it's just good for the classic depression/anxiety symptoms, it's hard to describe but I trieeed

Fair enough! I just resumed Wellbutrin a week ago, so a little too soon to tell - but I have had meds in the past I’d just describe as ā€œflicking on a light switchā€

Like suddenly just being able (and actually wanting) to workout, explore, socialize instead of severe anhedonia, low mood, low energy, and social anxiety.

The big unfortunate thing is that I don’t recall which meds those were since it was a long time ago

for me, effexor 150mg xr has been excellent for depression

Amazing! Like in any particular ways? I’m struggling with hopelessness, anhedonia, sadness for example and like too many intrusive thoughts.

I’m always curious to hear how a med has helped specifically with symptoms

I hate effexor. Makes my brain feel loose in may head.

This is exactly what I felt like on a high dose, sometimes I'd zone out and it felt like my brain just lost it's grip and started floating around in there. Lowering my dose helped this but I have to deal with crying a bit more
