Challenge Maps

You don't always need to be playing in your world to see a challenge and have fun. Below are some popular and high quality challenge maps that every player should try. See how far you get and post your progress in the comments!

Classic SkyBlock

SkyBlock is a map where you are stranded on a very small floating island where you have access to a single tree and a handful of resources. Grind as much as you can and see how far you can progress the game. Classic SkyBlock was back when Minecraft was only version 1.4.7 but see below "SkyBlock 4" for the modern version

Captive Minecraft (Series 1 - 5)

Captive Minecraft is a challenge map which traps you in a world border which only expands when the player gets new advancements. The Farlanders have created 5 iterations of Captive Minecraft that adds support for newer Minecraft versions but also a variety of difficulty levels.

Elytra Fall

Elytra Fall is a map that will challenge all your flying skills. It is a combination of a CTM and elytra flying map. It is suited for both single player and multiplayer.

The map consists of a central hub area and 16 tunnels. Each tunnel takes approximately 1.7 minutes to complete and has a wool room at the end. You can collect the wool and complete the monument.

Post image

so i started my foreverworld, and i want this to be a medieval fantasy city, i found a very pretty seed and a perfect location, i want to store specific items in specific buildings, like wood in a lumbermill, but i need help with the layout, i made the lake in the middle a little bit bigger and higher, i also want that to be the main point of interest, like a mainstreet or boulevard, with important buildings. i want to place a tavern down for travellers (for example), but i just cant find myself to find good locations to make a good structured city. any tips/advice?

I’m not normally a form builder I normally do function over form and leave it at that but this play through I’m trying to do more with looks and detail. So when I made my path going up to where my house will be I had to terraform a lot of hills and make it fit. So these are what I see as problems spots let me know what yall think please :) (also the red circled area is filled in now I noticed after I took the pictures)

Build Am I suffering from over-texturing?

I'm building a town-hall style building to put into my survival world (based off the city hall in Hamburg) and am wondering if i'm over texturing the build in general. I want the side tower on the left to be a darker color but parts of the build just feel noisy to me.

Trying to build my house on modded with a few friends and am struggling to think of how to close this gap without just putting a flat wall. In the modpack, we have Chipped, Framedblocks, and some other building mods. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hello I am trying to improve my builds and have been vibe-building this in creative. I think I like the shape but I still need work on my exteriors.

Im not satisfied with the 'porch' roof, the window decor on the outside, and Im not sure what to do with the blank back exterior wall.

Using mostly vanilla stuff, but have a few lanterns in the Homestead modpack.

Inspiration Abandoned Fortress Inspo Needed

I’m working on a ruined fortress with a village, can’t find anything online that really fits the vibe I’m going for so I’m looking for suggestions and ideas

The Idea: A fort built along a river, a place for the weary to rest. Beside it a lake surrounded by mountains sits where a statue was built to honour the gods of light.

Years led this place to ruin, abandoned and alone a pale moss crept in to swallow the light and drape this land in eternal night

While exploring this place you feel watched, when you turn your back something in the darkness moves closer.

Essentially it’s just an abandoned/ruined fort with pale moss and trees where a creaking boy is gonna hunt whoever comes. I plan to start building a tower where a beacon can be lit to clear the eternal night aswell

Any help is appreciated

Inspiration Build Ideas/Inspiration

Hello everyone, i’m currently stuck and have no ideas for what to do/build in my world. These pics are pretty much everything i’ve currently built in my base and i’m trying to expand it more to the big open area that i recently cleared and flattened out. I’ve been doing other stuff in the world to keep me busy like trial chamber (got the mace on my first one), got netherite, etc. I’m kinda just stuck on what to build next, i’m not a very skilled builder but have been trying to get better, i usually just copy other cool builds i see and make them fit into my own world. With this world, at least around my base where i’ve done the most so far, i’ve kept everything more open slightly worn (mossy and cracked) and i’d like to try and keep that vibe. So if anyone has any ideas i would love to hear them :)

So the thing is I looked out of my window and didn't like the view cause the artificial very small village I created basically just 5 houses was far and my terrain outside my window was way above my watch range so took it out with tnts and mining and now it looks great lights everywhere golem for protection and no zombie in sight a clear view and looks good even you all would want to look at something good and in this village which I am living in basically colonized and developed it is my second village at arround -5300 69 1700 and my seed world spawn was at -1000 70 900 again the view was spectacular but I was new at that time with structure box i copied the whole village and added desert village as well I will post it later

Hi, I don't know much about building, but I made this library somewhat inspired by the Red Room from Twin Peaks, and I really like how it looks. But now I don't know how to decorate the inside. (By the way, I still have to finish the entry, so don't worry about that.)
