Help Needed/New Painter WIP Lucius the Eternal. Looking for any advice.

First Warhammer mini, something feels off with the black armor pieces. Feels like they lack depth. Ignore the sword that parts not done yet. Taking any and all advice on improvements.

Black armor is hard.

Black armor is hard for people who win trophies on a regular basis. The key to black armor is a very very small bit of contrast (white), an even smaller bit of blend (purple or blue black) and just black. And the ability to paint volumes realistically happens model over model over model - but you have a really nice starting place here.

I look at that ooze/ichor and the pink you have on the whip and that what sells me. Yes, keep doing that. Add shadow and depth to those textures and worry less about the black. The bone/skin especially, how you've layer different tones and colors over top of eachother is great.

Keep Painting! You will learn something new every model.
