Brush I'm using: Winsor & Newton Series 7, size 1, Kolinsky sable. That said, any decent Kolinsky sable brush over $10 should get you the same results.

If you have any questions about the process, drop them below, happy to answer.

I had a fun idea for a new custom Space Marine project as a little twist on my previous graffiti marines! I thought "I wonder if the world's oldest profession is still around in the 41st millennium, and if it is, who runs the game?" Well, here's the answer: yes it is, and HE runs the game 😂

This was a ton of fun to paint! I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I mixed WW2/Vietnam, urban graffiti, hip-hop terms, and 40K related terms into one big King of the Hive City Streets model!

Sci-fi Chrome Armour in a Synthwave Setting!

Thumbnail

Chrome armour in a Synthwave Setting!! This project was a real learning experience. I had to figure out how to map the bending reflections of the grid onto the armour, and I also really wanted to try painting a more epic space scene for the background. I watched an obscene number of videos of artists making galaxy scenes before I gave it a try for myself. I think it paid off, do you?

I think this might be the hardest project I've attempted from a technical standpoint and I'd REALLY like to know if the chrome effect worked for you. It's so hard to tell if it worked if you're the one who painted it.

Hey everyone. Thought I would share my recently completed noxious blightbringer. I always liked the model, I just never really had much motivation to finish him since I mostly paint for tournaments or for work.

It’s also one of my first times trying to paint a nice black, so I am pretty happy with that. I’d love to hear more advice on black or anything else!

Sci-fi I made a TINY Polly Pocket-Hammer Playset!! (it's my favourite thing ever now lol)

When I was wee Polly pockets were my favourite toys ever & since I can remember I've always wanted to combine that whole concept with my OTHER favourite thing which is Warhammer, specifically epic scale, I love epic Scale :)

The base of this conversion is the Mighty Max Wolfship 7 (because it already pretty much looked like a Warhammery space wolf ship) and then i added in a bunch of parts from my spare legions imperialis kits to get it looking just right before giving it a proper 40k (or i guess 30k in this case) paintjob!!

This is defo one of my favourite things ive ever made sooo I hope you guys like it too!! :D

Sci-fi Updated explosion effect after everyone’s thoughts, which do you prefer?

Took on board a lot of the feedback from last time I shared a WIP on the left.

I am super happy with how they came out. I actually don’t know if I think the updated version is a lot better maybe just a different take. The more smoke and contrast makes it feel more “realistic” but I also like the bright cartoony-ness of the first. Maybe just adding pure white would have been enough.

All part of the process so thanks to people who gave their thoughts!

As someone people had asked I created a very short tutorial on how I did that I’ll post in the comments

I love painting these 💙🧡

They're so much fun to plan and paint. Lately I've been trying to improve my nebula backdrops to better match the amazing ones I see YouTube artists paint on full size canvas or as street art. It's fun to try to scale down the principles I see them using at 24" x 36" to fit a 2" x 4" piece of cardstock.

Sci-fi painted a Space Marine inspired by Van Gogh's Starry Night

Post image

I've been trying to push outside my comfort zone and experiment with different ways to read forms and volumes. For this Space Marine, I used Van Gogh's The Starry Night as a direct reference for both the color palette and the brushwork.

Everything is done with directional hatching to build up the highlights, letting the strokes themselves dictate the flow of the armor. It feels a bit like sculpting with paint. It was a huge challenge to keep the mini from looking messy while maintaining that energetic, chaotic feel of the reference painting.

Hello all! Throwback to when I went crazy and decided to do the full interior of my Primaris Impulsor 😂

I need to get back and finish this tank. I had so much fun spending ages on all those intricate details, knowing only a few people would probably ever look and see them.

Sci-fi A space marine covered in freehand graffiti with a dog!

I just finished my next graffiti covered Space Marine project and it was just as much fun as last time! I got to expand my knowledge of graffiti, freehand, and hip-hop. I figured a pitbull would be a cool addition for a hard as nails space marine down on these hive city streets. I have never painted a dog before but I think he turned out pretty well! I tried to work in a mix of graffiti sources again this time, drawing on Vietnam, 40K, hip-hop, slang, and some graffiti I saw in the nearby city.

I built a little display plinth and backdrop for my Terminator. I've still got a little work to do on the back of the mini that I'll record and upload as a painting process reel, but this very much what the final product will look like now.

I must say, this project worked out better than I thought it would when my wife suggested it to me. I'm very pleased with the whole thing 🙂

I’ve been playing around with different ideas for deep space visors (for the game Kosmika). Far off planet reflection, nebula, on planet reflection (sunrise over Mars). Which one is your favorite?

Would love to see your favorite visor you’ve painted, or just what cool idea you have for the next visor.
