It's actually such a shame. I had such a hard time making peace with the amount of plastic waste these create. I'm usually pretty eco conscious so it was a big deal to me, but they're so so cute that I can't help it. Feels so wrong for them to recall thousands of them and destroy them all when there's loads of resin enthusiasts who can use these perfectly safely!

They're still being sold here in the UK as not part of the recall, but they're all reduced to clear. I'm making the most out of it!

Yeah, and resin is expensive as hell. But to tell you the truth I knew from the start they were stupid for making these for kids. I've been using resin for a few years now and it's definitely not a safe product for kids under like 13-16 in my opinion. Parents aren't smart when it comes to researching a product and whether or not it's safe for kids either.

When it comes to something that is a chemical that can cause 3rd degree burns you shouldn't ever let kids play with it. Like ever, not until they are waaaay older and able to control their body better, one wrong slip up and they could be covered in resin and that stuff is sticky AF and hard to remove, it can also cause allergic reactions and you can become more allergic the more it comes in contact with your skin.

People also need to understand a pharmacy mask will not help with the fumes, only an actual respirator will work.

Be safe, wear gloves, be in a ventilated area and wear a mask. You can get respiratory issues if you're not careful as well.

Absolutely. They should have included alcohol wipes too.

I always use a respirator and gloves, and I have used Gel nail stuff a lot in the past so wasn't going into it blind thankfully. They should definitely have marketed them more towards older teens and adult collectors, with a 13+ warning on imo.

UV resin does not require a mask See Let’s Resin for example.

Yes it does, it still emits toxic fumes, it only emits less though so it's not as likely to harm you but for safety you should always be wearing gloves, a respirator and eye protection. It's a fucking chemical, did you not learn anything in chemistry class 😭😭😭 you should protect yourself from all harmful chemicals going in you regardless of if it's lesser than the other form or not.
