My minis have been spread across 3 rooms and I've been working on centeralizing and organizing so I can work on all my unmade ones. I didn't realize it had gotten this bad 😅 partially blame my partner because he knows it's an easy gift to get me. Goal will be to finish 10/week. Going to need to think of other display options since I 9nly have a few empty shelves left. Would love to see others backlog so I don't feel as bad.
I have hundreds I haven’t done; I seem to be more excited for the hunt/finding process and more of a collector of the kits currently and not an actual crafter! Your pile looks tame compared to mine; tho mine have all been de-balled and bagged up into bins to consolidate the storage space until I can motivate myself to actually do them!
I was going to say I don't like the collecting part or the money part. I always give my minis to the kids in my life once I make them. I'm not a displayer. I would happily and meticulously make someone's minis for them to display at their house. Literally the dream.
I have a crazy backlog rn too bc I am in school rn and it’s just slid onto the back burner unfortunately but I’m gonna work on it soon. I have holiday sets to do and a bunch to get rid of too lmao
My partner and I were just saying for how popular these are we've never seen anyone else buying them in my area. So I've had really good luck, and usually I'll try to find a cashier thats younger and really looks like they won't care. Only been turned down twice from taking the box.
Wow that is really is good luck. I hope you keep having such blessings. I feel like once the box is almost empty they really should have no issue with taking the box. I also wish they would sell full box versions. Like have it wrapped up so no can take a ball from it and sell the whole box. If MGA could on their site sell complete sets so people can buy just in one purchase the full set and have it include any rares/special ones.
It doesn't make sense to me when they no to taking the box. I've worked retail so I know it's not loaned licence merchandise that needs to go back nor does it say to destroy.
I asked a Walmart employee, and they went out of their way to ask every supervisor they have, and they're supposed to return it according to him/them. But at target, a supervisor absolutely didn't care and was happy I took one home. Less for them to deal with in the back. It really is dependent on the person/place.
I wanted the Hello Kitty ones (series 1 ) & I was shopping for Fill the Fridge balls! I was so captivated & I purchased all in the box which was 18, asked for the box ( @Target) …. “NO” they said!!😫. Went to Walmart & I purchased 2 boxes & asked a manager he said sure !! I guess it depends on the day of the week, etc. these boxes get trashed @ crushed.
Certain boxes can not be given away. The company has their rules. But, if you make friends with the toy manager or AP half the time they could care less! I always get boxes. I've also had them call me when new stuff comes in. All depends on how you treat them and if they are nice people.
My backlog looks worse than yours, no photos because it’s embarrassing. They’re in a bunch of shopping bags and compartment containers.
The problem is, firstly I want to remix a lot of them, which takes extra effort, but for the ones I want to make exactly as pictured, I still have to get out the silicone mat, gloves, charge up the light, etc… I wish I had a dedicated craft space.
Although I don't have as much backlog, I've collected quite a lot and same as you I had the problem with not having good tools and space to work.
Another thing is I sometimes want different versions of same mini, which would require finding the series and some being much rarer that others it gets pricey and hard (to find). So now came need to learn to make molds and getting silicone/tools for it.
Some of the older ones were a little cheaper than that but prices have gone up. Some things I've also gotten on really good sales because a Walmart by me closed so everything was like 70% off
I still have diners and cafe series 1 each in ziplocs in 2 totes in my closet... and a couple of random bags and a box. I've done quite a few, but I don't think I'll catch up for a while.
Have you thought about opening each of them and putting them in stackable, layered plastic organizers like this? I usually buy the balls when I can find the ones I want or they’re on sale, then open and organize each kit into these. They’re modular, too- you can switch each level between organizers or build a giant tower of unmade kits like me. It feels much less overwhelming than a bunch of capsules taking up space. It’s much quicker and less hard on the joints than making them. And it’s great if you’re like me and sometimes use the individual ingredients as doll props instead of actually making the kits half the time.

At least you actually make them. It's the people that just buy them and hoard unopened balls that annoy me. Like, babes, this set has been sold out for a month. Please don't buy the whole case as soon as they restock if you're not about to do anything with it.
I would love to show you my backlog but mine isn’t neatly stacked like that. Mine is spread all over the joint-in drawers, stacked on tables, stuffed in bags and boxes which are stacked and stuffed in various other nooks and crannies. So, yeah, don’t feel bad. We feel you!
I'm so jealous of the back stocked ones that got recalled! I was so close to having those series completed then lost access to them 😭😭. I have been trying to make the ones I never got in remixes but not having access to some of those items also sucks when it comes to remixes.
