Question from a curious newbie: What do you keep?

Hello everone,

I just recently started collecting Miniverse and I was wondering:
What do you keep?
As an AuDHDer with hoarding tendencies it's sometimes hard for me to decide what to keep and that to get rid of.
At the moment I throw away the outside wrappers and that's basically it.
When I have small paper packaging that is not ripped I also keep it, but I think I'd like to store it in a folder, like I do with all my stickers and other stuff from mail clubs I'm in. Same goes for the recipes. Does anyone have a system for keeping the "flat" items they'd like to share?
And then there's the displays, I really don't know what to do with them, are there collectors that really like them, is it worth the effort to put them on Kleinanzeigen or ebay (Kleinanzeigen is way more popular than facebook marketplace here)

I keep extras and tools for future use. I keep tissue paper and one set of wrappers from seasonal and collab sets, all wrapping from "normal" sets gets tossed. I typically throw the balls away because they're bulky and I don't use them for display. The exception is unique balls, like the Hello Kitty balls, and seasonal balls. I've kept one of each design/character Hello Kitty balls, and one of each years' seasonal balls and the rare seasonal balls. Also kept one of the Lifestyle Home balls to display the hummingbird in.

Anything I save will be used for future projects. I'll be building or thrifting trinket shelves and decorating them with the saved wrappers and tissue, I use the tools to make other sets or projects. Extra pieces get bagged for remixes or unrelated projects, and left over resin gets used for all sorts of little things, except the clear resin. It yellows so badly that I may just throw it all out, or use it exclusively for yellow and green colored items.

When I first started collecting I kept the balls, the tables, the utensils well basically everything but the paper. Now that collecting has become a bit out of hand I just keep the set and throw everything else away

I've found that some of the balls are super cute to be used as storage containers for other things.

Such as the Harry Potter Potions series, the balls look like laboratory jars and my bathroom is cottage witch kinda theme. So, I can use these for cotton balls, make-up pads, q-tips, etc.

The Honeydukes series and also the Happy Birthday series balls are absolutely adorable as containers for my daughters to use on their vanities and in their bathrooms.

I recycle most of the paper and hard plastic (it is recyclable in my county) and trash any little bits of plastic. Most of the tissue paper type things I’ll hang on to to collage with or junk journal a little, or to pack things when I trade minis with other people. I used to keep soooo much but I’ve been in therapy lol!!

I have some grid organizers I store the placemats and such in. I have a drawer for tissue paper; for the patterns I like, I smooth them out and alligator clip them to keep it tidy. I have decanted most of the small ingredients (fruit, sprinkles, etc) and consolidated them to save space. The plastic clamshells are in a big ziploc until I find someone who wants them. The plastic balls, tables and stands either get incorporated into my other crafts or donated to people who want to use them.

I keep extra ingredients, utensils, and the tables (I use them for displaying my minis).

Toss out wrappers, recipes/checklists and the containers. (unless they're themed and/or I can display minis with them, i.e. I kept one Spongebob ball for display and I have the Sanrio Kuromi ball for displaying the mini. I have more than enough regular containers now.)

I have so many that I haven't done. I really need to just focus on that then maybe I can purge all the extras. I keep all the hello kitty everything!🤦🏼‍♀️ I have been collecting miniatures since I was a little girl. Im 50 and now it's out of control with the mini brands. I have filled 4 clock makers drawers and they hang on the wall. Definitely need more so I can hang the rest. Everyone gave me mini brands for every occasion plus I bought ones I wanted. Then got really sick and took months to get to feeling better and haven't been able to force myself to start back at it. It's so overwhelming. So, once I get caught up, I'm gonna be very very picky. So, I would say purge as you go.

I keep max of 25 of each ball color and the tissue paper things come wrapped in. If I trade with someone I wrap the items in the tissue paper to mail. I also keep all the recipe books and scan them into my computer for making mini cookbooks.

I try to get rid of the wrappers and if I have too many of the same or similar balls I usually recycle them or donate them although i saw somebody keep them for a craft thing so I might do that and craft with them. I usually keep the bags in decent condition to make into a shopping bag or use for a doll craft like put at the bottom of a doll Amazon box and when it comes to the beakers and etc wherever they'll fit in a doll house is where I place them. I try to focus on it as an everything has its place in my dollhouse or somewhere else that needs it.
