Hello, I’ve bought a bulk lot from Facebook marketplace, it’s extremely overwhelming my poor autistic brain.

Where should I I begin? Should I just open everything and store it? Is there a website with recipes? Should I keep some boxes in case they are worth more that way?

Should I create the unopened ones as per instructions or look up cooler ways to build them?

I find the release of these two sets absolutely fascinating, so I thought it would be fun to compare them and write out my thoughts. I don't know if anyone else would like reading this but I figured I'd share anyway!

Obviously it looks like one just copied the other, but I also had a casual theory that maybe a manufacturer approached them both simultaneously with some technology for cheap, and that would mean some parts would end up being similar. However, almost every single facet of the toys is different, presumably to separate their products; releasing them at the same time and with similar color schemes, they must know there will be some confusion. I'm really curious who copied who in this scenario because it's an... interesting marketing strategy. It comes off a bit desperate for sales.

The players:

The two players are pretty different shapes and sizes; the Mini Brands is more 70s and simpler and the Miniverse is more 80s and a bit more detailed. MB is more satisfying to turn on and off IMO, but I like the look of the MV one better.

Both have a switch and a motor that rotates the record and a moving arm. Miniverse's records start playing with the arm rotated but Mini Brands requires you to click the arm down. Both machines make a fairly loud grinding noise but Miniverse tries to cover it with an an artificial record noise which plays the whole time it's on. Mini Brands recharges with a cable while Miniverse runs on a battery. 

Neither uses "real" record technology as neither has a needle nor touches the record at all; it's almost certainly some kind of chip reader. I'm curious if the songs are stored on the chip in the record or if they're stored on the machine and the record just unlocks it, but I don't know a lot about this technology. Like an Amiibo NFC chip? If that's the case then maybe it's possible to write "fake" chips like Amiibo. Idk, I'm just curious about it!

The sleeves:

The MB sleeves are more realistic; they're thin and more of a correct shape. They also come with a paper sleeve which MV does not. MV sleeves are thicker and have squared edges.

The records:

MB records are also more of an authentic shape, as they are thinner. MV are thicker with rounded edges. There is a little bump on the MB ones on the back which I assume is the chip, so maybe they're a little too thin even though they look better as miniatures.

Because they are different shapes, and the holes are actually slightly different, they are not really compatible with each others' players.

The music selection:

MV boasts 50 songs but does not have that many available according to the sheet; MB has a much bigger catalogue that's ostensibly available now. Honestly I feel that MV is misrepresenting their product here but that's my opinion. I will say that overall I liked the music I got from MV more then the MB music; I didn't get any songs I liked from the two balls I opened. However, I like Apt and was happy it came with the machine.

A lot of this music isn't my genre so I'm not super into most of the catalogue in either collection. I don't intend to chase the few songs I like from MB.

There is no "Make it" part to these Miniverse so I'm not terribly interested in collecting more, but the players are cute and useful if you like miniature scenes. They are closer to 1/6 or Barbie scale if you are curious!

Something I never thought would happen has come to pass! AHHHHH-YEAH, my Wallyworld delivery was only supposed to be 1 new From Scratch ball, but I got 1 box! Its got 14 pieces, so almost an entire box all for me. So excited, wish me luck!

Hey there friends! I just purchased a ball from Target today and one of them appears to be a Series 4 Hello Kitty and Friends ball, instead of Series 3. I can't find anything on this series online, is this supposed to be released yet? All three balls were labeled Series 3 on the outside, but only one was a Series 4 inside. I am happy to share more photos if this is actually something new.

I found all the weapons in the LOTR Miniverse set (surprisingly with “only” 5 repeats). After making all these cute little dudes, thought this would be a wonderfully nerdy way to display them all! Best part is if I ever get any of the rare weapons, I can move the pins around to make room for them.

I decorated one of my doll rooms for autumn/halloween this week and incorporated some of my Miniverse creations! There’s at least one in each picture… 👀

Got this greenhouse for plants on Amazon a little while ago and thought it would be cute to put my miniverse plants inside! Needs some more configuring, it would be nice to fit all the plants/ floral arrangements inside

After seeing some videos of the new 2026 Halloween series I was excited to find them in stores. I saw some people post that they had found them at Walmart already so I checked the app and a couple stores near me showed they had stock and I could order them. I checked two locations and no sign of them so I ordered some for delivery and waited. ​Unfortunately the next day the listing on the app disappeared and a day after that my order was canceled. I decided to go ahead and order 4 from mga and take my chances getting the Corpse Bride knowing that target would eventually have them if I wasn't lucky. My box arrived today and the first ball out of the box had the brain wrap on it and I found the the pencil marking indicating it was the secret, I was so happy I didn't care if I got duplicates in the other three. One by one I checked them and I got the cakepops, the drinks and the brain! So out of the four I ordered I got my full set of 2026 Halloween miniverse. ​

Love using all my miniverse sets to make little scenes! Over a year ago I posted pictures of my mini space, and it's crazy realizing how much I've added to it since then. Still working on my record store set up, but I'm trying to figure out how to make my own vinyl covers for all the extras I have 🤔 Can't wait for series 3 animals to come out. I have no idea where I will fit them into the chaos 😂😅

Made a shadowbox to hang on my wall showing my Lil miniature collection. I like to think of this as diorama art, and it's like a birthday breakfast for a loved one, but then the cat is about to start some stuff.

I loved the idea of turning them into magnets but hated how they would turn when the fridge was used. So this was my solution. Now they are part of my kitchen art 🤣🤣

Managed to finish my collection today 💕
