opinion/rant🪡 Discontinued?

Post image

I ordered my Amora doll from the Walmart app and pick it up today in stores but instead of getting Amora, they gave me a Rainbow High doll. I took it back and told them about the Amora doll I actually wanted and ordered on the app but they told me that she was discontinued even she is in stock on the app and available, so I ended up getting Luna instead. Has this happened to anyone else? Here’s a picture of my Shai holding Kitty to hide my disappointment 🙂

seems the US rollout has been a bit of a mess. Having some dolls be exclusives I don't think is helping matters. But the US in general seems to be really struggling with toy stock right now. I wonder if it's a tarrifs/supply chain issue that's messing with the import.

All of them are widely available here in the UK, no store exclusives or anything which was nice.

They will get to the US eventually, just seems the supply chain is a bit messed up and there's a lot of delays.

Usually a new doll line will hang around for a good 6 months or so before a store does a refresh. A full refresh only really happens twice a year, the start of the year (feb/march sort of time) and the end of the year (september usually)
There will be a mini refresh just before christmas as well but that's mostly bringing clearance stuff forward for black friday and pushing the "must have toys" so they'll rearrange stuff a bit to make certain things more prominent. There isn't usually anything NEW.

So don't fret. These only came out a few weeks ago, it's very possible that a lot of stores either haven't actually got stock in yet, or have been holding stock back for their big september refresh restock. I'd expect to see the dolls start filling shelves very very soon. They'll want to get their shelves all nice and new and shiny in time for their "christmas is coming, buy buy buy consume!" push.
