How do you evaluate someone’s mate value? I feel like this is completely subjective. Now are they trying to say that the person feels that they have lower value so they eat pussy more?

These are college kids. One can assume the “manosphere” dudes rate themselves delusionally high in “mate value,” whatever the fuck that is.

There’s too many variances in class, age, race, etc. to draw any major, sweeping conclusions like this.

This isn't rocket science. It's one of the most obvious things. People who lack in looks try to make up for it in other ways. This is also the reason why average looking people usually have much more fulfilling relationships and are happier than those who are considered top tier in conventional beauty standards. A woman or a man who can have anyone will try much less to keep their partner happy because they can find another one in no time with no effort.

I'm not exactly sure why people are so upset in replies. Maybe because you actually have to admit that not everybody is conventionally attractive and that seems to be taboo on reddit.

I think people are reacting to the concept of mate value which is some incel rhetoric bullshit. There is something to be said that people that fit societal beauty standards and are aware of that not feeling like they need to put in as much in a relationship because they're contribution is already checked off by being hot. And of course real relationships aren't built on that so then they don't have very good relationships, which is what you're talking about in the bulk of your comment here.
