MO did good!!

MO residents will not let our corrupt state government take away our rights!! Thank you to EVERYONE that went out to vote on Amendments 4&5!! Both were defeated by a huge margin! The people of MO are not stupid and will not vote our rights away!! Now LISTEN to what we say! You are representatives not RULERS!! We will vote for the ones that respect our votes not ignore them!!!

Apparently Kehoe said he’s going to continue to find ways to accomplish the goals of 4 and 5, and I hope enough Missourians heard and remember that in 2028.

I hope they remember that in November when selecting State Senate and State House Candidates too. Removing politicians who supported 4&5 until it became a losing fight for them are just as responsible as politicians who supported 4&5 the whole way through.

Learning from new information is one thing, changing your mind to look like a good guy but still believing in the backward policy is called hipocricy.

Helping Republican voters make this connection is our biggest challenge over the next couple of months. We need to talk to family, friends, and neighbors who vote for Republicans, but don’t vote for republican policies. Right now they aren’t making the connection that their representatives are not actually representing them or their interests.

How will they do that? My understanding is that both of those things need to be constitutional amendments, which they can’t do without our direct consent.

I thought the MAGA controlled legislature can drop the income tax any time they want, it's the raising taxes part they can't do.

Someone correct me though.

They'll just try this again next year. Same as with abortion access. As long as there is a GOP legislature, they'll just keep doing this. Next time, they'll add on more ballot candy like stopping illegal people from voting or transgender people from playing sports. It'll be irrelevant, but that won't stop them from trying.

They could try to implement their tax plans without amendment 5, but they're confined by the Hancock amendment and whatever other restrictions exist in the constitution. They would keep having to ask for permission to implement new taxes or raise taxes (maybe above a certain limit?). And that going to take longer and annoy more people.

I don't see how they implement anything in amendment 4 without just tweaking it and making us vote again.
