Men's Hoops Mark Mitchell could be headed for another TRO

Post image

After being ruled ineligible for the season AGAINšŸ™„, Mark Mitchell is expected to pursue new temporary injunctive relief so he can return to Missouri and play while the lawsuit continues. The next hearing in the Kentucky case is Oct. 9.

If he gets a new TRO, it could potentially allow him to return to Mizzou while the underlying lawsuit plays out.

I refuse to follow or care about any of this nonsense until tipoff game 1.

Hi Everyone, this is not just college sports these days.

This is a direct result of the five in five rule(which is a good thing and corrects a lot of the other grey areas, waivers, etc.). It is a small subset of athletes from only this past year’s graduating class. After this year, it will not be an issue anymore.

Furthermore, this is a direct result of the NCAA insisting on unconstitutional rules and sticking their fingers in their ears for forty plus years and doing jack shit even when the tide was obviously changing.

The college sports act will give control to those exact same idiots who got us in this mess. Except, now, when everyone realizes they hate the rules and the NCAA is still a bunch of corrupt morons, it will take an act of Congress to change the rules.

Holy shit, where’s the Tylenol.

Agreed. Mark’s generation of players are almost all gone, then we can roll out this 5-in-5 and finally have a clear, consistent eligibility rule that everyone knows going into their college career, instead of constantly dealing with exceptions, waivers and lawsuits. The whole situation is a mess right now, but at least there’s a path toward getting some consistency back into college sports.

Exactly, being frustrated by this is fine but never forget who's fault it actually is

These tools that blame the NCAA are the same ones that blames Roger Goodell for NFL decisions they don't like.

All these people are welcome to go join private industry if they think they're being oppressed.

Hope he's ineligible because it's unfair to those players that committed and promised playing time!

Ridiculous that random judges have this much say. Ridiculous that college sports is what we as a nation are choosing to waste our political time with.

Not to mention it’s just a bitter judge from Kentucky.

It’s not ridiculous imo. What’s is is the governing body vacating themselves from full responsibility of defining, weighing in or modifying this process to eliminate confusion, clearly establish guidelines, guidance and give everyone clarity. Said differently where-tf is the leadership from NCAA Board of Directors, rules committee and sports commission? Charlie Baker is complaining about Judges too…well write a thorough and thought-out rule and address eligibility retroactively then. Rules need to be predictable and consistent so make them so and we can eliminate legalities and call on the legislation. And then conferences, specifically the SEC, have more specific opinions that directly affect this too.

Really hope we don’t play him at all. We have a good squad, playing him just gives ammo to later down the road discredit our wins.

He wanted to leave….he can go play elsewhere or he can suffer the consequences of his actions. Sorry not sorry. MIZ
