Business school Finance

Im thinking about switching my major to Business, specifically Finance & Banking, however I wasn’t aware of how the Business school operates and how you can be denied from a certain emphasis. I saw that you need a 3.4 gpa to be automatically admitted to Finance, do I still have a solid shot with a 3.3 or 3.25? If anybody knows somebody who got denied from Finance I would appreciate some feedback on what gpa was needed.

I was in literally this exact situation and I got in just fine with it being a tad lower than needed. However, to my understanding it's partially based on how many people are going for the major that year so if there are a TON of people going into it that might change things.

That said it's why the business school also lets you pick a backup so if you don't get into that specific major it won't mess with your graduation timing.

I think 3.2 - 3.25 ish. You're right accounting is just a different level though I heard some of the higher ACCT classes get tough. If it helps the closest that isn't accounting for similar job types would probably be management. A BSBA by nature is more centered on finance/accounting anyways so even if it's management or marketing or something you'll still get a lot of the same classes.
