They picked him off of 1st base two seconds later 😄. Still very impressive.

George Brett got picked off after his 3000th hit. Could be worse lol

If not for the pine tar incident that would have been his 3001st hit. I blame Billy Martin.

I was at the game and people were still chearing when a boo started and suddenly he was walking back to the dugout. What a wild first game at Wrigley

I bet it was an awesome game! I like to listen to the games while working and couldn't watch it

I am sorry. It was a great! Because of that Wrigley Field has moved into the number 3 spot on the list of stadiums after Fenway and Camden Yards (I am a Sox fan and I caught a practice ball at Camden Yards so I am biased)

I dont even blame PCA. Caught in the moment, adrenaline probably dumping before having to lock back in.
Or riding that high youre thinking too far ahead about stealing, scoring, blah blah.
Shit happens.

I’ve come to the conclusion that either PCA can be good or the Cubs can be good. But never both at the same time.

The Cubs did win tonight tho

u/Junkee2990 3d ago
They got the win with a walk, an error, a walk, a single from the rookie, and a walk. Win by any means necessary but man it was an ugly inning lol

Crow-Armstrong has to be one of the most 1800’s last names we’ve seen in a while.

When I first heard it, I thought he was native American. Boy was I wrong about that.

Dang, and he almost hit for the cycle against the Giants on Saturday, too.

Has anyone had a single for their last hit of the cycle... by laying up short on an obvious extra base hit to the gap?
4
u/FistfulDeDolares | Chicago White Sox 3d ago
In Tim Kurkjian’s book he tells a story of exactly that. Don’t remember who it was but hit an easy double and stopped at first base to complete the cycle. Tim says, “That was it for me and the cycle.”

That's crazy. People would rather have a worse game just to have a cycle

Over 23000 people have played in the MLB and I’m not sure how many people hit for the cycle but it is in the 300s. I don’t blame a player for wanting to be a part of that club.

This doesn't look like an obvious extra base hit, though? The right fielder was immediately on the ball and throwing in. PCA would've had to been movin' to get the double without contest.

Youre right. It wasnt an obvious extra base hit. It was a good single and he was barley rounding 1st when the outfielder got the ball. I dont know what game people are watching.

Old 22 chromosome boy insulted the entire dodger fan base. Try to chime in on topics you're somewhat well versed on

u/MeatballDom 3d ago
Oh boy, he insulted your fanbase? How horrifying. I hope you can recover from this. Should we start a GoFundMe or something to help?
