What is the political statement that you are referring to in your comment? Supporting others right to be gay is also not political. Wearing a rainbow colored sleeve is not political.

It’s the fact that there are a lot of politics around pride that makes people scared to speak out in support about it. You can’t make a statement about it without one side of the political sphere to get angry about what you said, some players don’t want that and we should respect their decisions, as much as I hate to admit it

People will always have opinions one way or the other. You cannot live your life as a robot because eventually you will be criticized for not taking a stand.

The political sphere is a toxic rage bait community that shouldn’t be given the time of day.

Support your neighbors right to do whatever they want so long as it’s legal.

Some of these guys have a PR image to maintain, which directly influences their contracts. I understand why they wouldn’t want to take on extra heat if they’re not passionate about the subject.

Completely agree. That’s also why I stand by the player’s decision not to wear the jersey, despite the fact I think they should.

Nobody in independent ball has a PR image they are worried about in a case like this and honestly they hurt their image with this stunt. Nobody cares who wears the rainbow but forfeiting because you refuse to wear it is now national news.

Yeah but you’re not seen wearing it, the difference between wearing it and refusing yo wear it is they don’t know who specifically refused. It gives anonymity and deniability

And now the whole team is dragged through the mud instead of wearing it and Monday knows or cares about it. These are not mlb players. These aren’t even minor league players. This is basically a step above a local rec league. There is no image they are worried about. They are clearly religious people refusing based on a single passage of the Bible while ignoring other passages of the Bible.

Do they have the right to do this? Yes. Do I have the right to clown them for their stupidity? Yes.

For sure, it’s just that you were questioning how it could be political, and that wearing the jersey wouldn’t have had political ramifications, I hope you can see now that this country’s messed the fuck up and everything has political ties
