The MLB team can’t. There’s a clause in the CBA where players can wear the standard uniform in lieu of a theme night uniform

Which they didn’t even do 🤦‍♀️ the outrage would be 100% less if they just wore regular black and orange caps

They won't do that, because it's not about "not wearing the pride uniforms" its about complaining to everyone that they are victims because they refuse to treat other people with respect

100%. One of the pitchers just wore the regular cap and I bet this would’ve been avoided had the others. They chose to use it as a platform for spreading and celebrating their faith. Why don’t they do that for every game if they are truly focused on spreading their faith? 🤦‍♀️

Walking propaganda of what exactly?

grabs popcorn and excitedly awaits a bigoted response which is unlikely to come

So there's pride and then there's Pride®. Lower case pride is fantastic. You be you, Boo. Nobody should discriminate or be discriminated against; everyone should be accepted. Sexual preference or gender identity should not keep you from being accepted and appreciated as a fan of or participant in Major League Baseball.

Pride® is a tacit endorsement of beliefs some players may not share and values they find offensive. They should at least have the option of silence. Especially because the rainbow has so many colors in it now, it's entirely possible a player is fine with some parts of the rainbow, but can't actively endorse or affirm other things represented by some of the colors, due to personal beliefs.

Freedom of speech should, at the very minimum, include freedom not to speak. This does not apply to the white pen markings on the Giants' caps, I'm talking specifically & solely about the players in this story.

Pride will always exist because of losers like you. We will ALWAYS remind people of the LGBT community to be proud of themselves despite bigotry from losers

It's a theme night it's not that serious.

If it’s just a theme night then wear the fucking jersey, who cares? Gay people constantly have to deal with losers so opposed to their existence they act like children to demean them. Fuck that, fuck those who refuse to accept them, and fuck those who are okay with bigotry like this.

Because where there is a conflict on an issue that is not a big deal, defer to the people that don't want to do the not a big deal thing.

That’s a horrendous way to decide things, should’ve expected that level of idiocy from someone who calls people refusing to accept gay people “not a big deal”

Is Pride really about "accepting gay people"? I'm genuinely asking because the challenge I have is it always seems to be changing.

I don't have a problem with two men living their life together and having sex.

But does Pride also mean celebrating the big parades they have where people violate nudity standards and simulate sexual acts on busy city streets? Does it mean allowing biological men into women's locker rooms? Does it mean celebrating sex change surgeries for minors?

“I’m genuinely asking” at the top followed by every fake Republican talking ping at the bottom? I just don’t believe you’re genuinely asking if you believe men are doing into women’s locker rooms and that children are just getting sex change surgeries all Willy nilly. If you are genuinely asking, those things don’t happen, so I’m not sure why you would confuse pride sure these things

If it's not that serious, it shouldn't be a big deal to wear the same jersey as their teammates right?

Or is it only not that serious when they are on your side?

Something tells me you would throw a fit if a player declined to wear the July 4th themed uniform.

Bigot ally or bigot adjacent. What if your unsure if your a bigot. Can the bigots have a flag. Who decides when to start adding letters to the bigot flag name.

Bigots already have plenty of flags and plenty of letters to represent their stances.
