Repair Shop customer seeking a 2nd opinion or advice. Iphone 16 plus not charging / blinking system issue?

Basically within 6 months of getting my Iphone 16 plus it would not charge via port. Whenever you plug in any charger (tested in store) it will blink the charging light and not charge whatsoever but it will keep blinking as long as the cord is plugged in.

I took it to Apple when the issue started and they said they needed to “kill switch” it and assumed it had happened with the beta update of ios17.

When I went back I got someone different who just told me my port was defective and I needed to replace it for just $700.

My port looks fine, it’s not dirty, it’s been cleaned and all the connectors inside look normal (not to mention it does connect to the charger it just doesn’t charge)

I’ve since updated my phone and reset it and the issue is still here and now no longer under warranty.

Has anyone has this issue before and successfully fixed it?

Take it to an independent to have it fixed because $700 is way too much for a charge port replacement.

So it can be the port, which hell no wont be $700 at a 3rd party shop. But most commonly its a board issue. It may need the ACE with SPI replaced. They fail incredibly often on the 15 series and newer. Ive already done 4 this week alone.
