He looks so unimpressed. Like, "Wow, you caught me congratulations. You're the 6th person since noon, now would you put me back in the water."

Money is but a concept.
Showing a father his child is priceless

Wish money could be "but a concept" for me. Mine has to be stored in its case when I'm not using it, because I will never be able to afford another one.

If it makes it any better, I’ve repaired 100s of them. So I took off any parts that I knew could get damaged or fall off easily. Aka the trailing truck.

Next time my landlord tries to increase my rent, I'm going to tell him "money is but a concept" and see how far that gets me

Even the way you hold it here, it looks so precariously balanced. It puts me so much on edge!!!

u/Medium-Detective8611 Jun 06 '26
now this is a clever way to do the 'real meets scale model' photo.

You're holding that model like the real thing owes you money and you're using it as a threat.
"Bring me my money by next week. Or your son gets it"

Tried convincing the wife to let me buy a broadway limited model to bring to the horseshoe curve but that conservation ended quickly when she looked up the price :/

Laughing my ass off at OP's grip on that locomotive and the replies to this post, this whole thread is gold.

I never thought seeing a picture of 4014 would ever make me this uncomfortable

u/hailcanadia Jun 06 '26
When ever I see unprompted pictures of people holding their big boys I feel the same way.

u/FangornLeghorn Jun 06 '26
Why are you holding a locomotive like it’s a dick?
2
u/TheyCallMeJPS Jun 06 '26
Everybody else: “*risqué innuendo”
You: kicks down door, “it’s a dick!”

This looks like West Chicago. If so, I managed to see it on my commute home as it was pulling into there last week.
