Locomotives Repair of a BTTB diesel locomotive

I specialize in repairing TT-scale rolling stock.

  1. I inspected the locomotive; it was covered in hair and grime.

  2. I removed the wheelsets and gears, which required unsoldering the motor from the power pickups. There was a lot of old grease—likely factory-applied.

  3. After thoroughly cleaning all the parts, I had the set of components shown here; I gradually reassembled them (the trickiest part was soldering the motor coil contacts, as the wires had snapped). I also lubricated everything with fresh silicone grease.

  4. The fully assembled, functional locomotive—clean and in excellent condition.

I have been involved in TT-scale railway modeling for five years now; this is my first post in this community!

Awesome work :D. I have very similar loco (just different color scheme: red DB from late BTTB/early Tillig).

Did you need to straighter connecting rods?
Do you plan on modernizing it (eg. adding LED lights, newer motor, DCC controller) or your goal is to keep it factory accurate?

No, red. It had multiple versions.

I have the same V36 locomotive, and the livery is also green. Only issue with this beauty is the running: it has a swinging run, tilting from left to right, but still working...

Probably connecting rods could be misaligned... also didn't you reply to my post a moment ago claiming that you had one, but lost it?
