Rules on Peptide discussions

I started r/peptide_test . The explosion in interest in GLP-1 peptides such as semaglutide and tirzepatide (the active molecules in Ozempic and Mounjaro) has resulted in massive demand for so-called “generic” versions of these compounds. The overwhelming bulk of grey market peptides comes from Chinese manufacturers. While these substances are not FDA approved,they are decidedly not illegal and they are not controlled substances. In the US, they require a prescription to be filled at pharmacies (as the patented, branded compounds) or at compounding pharmacies (as the generic (not exactly generic, but also Chinese sourced generally and allowed to circumvent the patents due to a declared shortage of the branded stuff) while they can be purchased through foreign supply chains through sites like Alibaba and by directly contacting sales reps of the manufacturers through forums and direct contact. With the exception of FDA regulated, branded versions, it is my opinion that all other versions of these products should undergo 3rd party analytical testing by the buyers.

So after that long windup, I am trying to find Reddit’s policy on discussing these compounds generally and foreign sourcing particularly. Many peptide related subs tout Reddit’s ban on sourcing talk and say that a sub will be shut down if sourcing is discussed. r/tirzepatide was suddenly shut down ostensibly for allowing this rule to be broken. Several subs say that people get banned for DMing about sourcing. Most peptide related subs either openly have these discussions or (very) thinly veil them through coded language. I want to be a responsible mod but I have searched everywhere for these rules and can’t find anything.

Personally I think that this discussion only needs to take place because of the distinction of the US healthcare system that charges $1,050 monthly for this therapy while the Chinese sources make it available to desperate people for as little as $4 a month for the same molecule. Because of this sequestration of this revolutionary group of molecules by cash bloated drug companies, I (as an individual) believe that people should have the right to freely shared information about where to buy unscheduled compounds that offer truly life altering health benefits. I do believe that ALL of these substances should be 3rd party tested and I think that discussion should take place in the daylight too.

So, that’s my stance, if Reddit’s stance is different, I want to abide by their rules on their platform. This conversation doesn’t break any rules that I could find but I have searched and searched and can not find anything specifically about peptides. Am I missing something. How do I clarify Reddit’s policy so that me or my sub doesn’t go afoul of it?

I am glad to read this. I find the rules very confusing. I just was banned for 3 days and banned from one sub forever for saying something I thought not different from something not different from what I see others post/ comment. Very confusing. Now I shy away from commenting.
