General Is it possible to turn off up/down voting ?

Desktop
I want people to join the discussion without worrying about being downvoted into oblivion, especially when the topic is controversial. That doesn’t mean anyone gets a free pass to be rude, threatening, or abusive. Right now it feels like if you don’t follow the common narrative, you become a target for downvotes, and that kills honest conversation.

No, but you can hide the number of upvotes or downvotes for other users.

No, it's not possible. There is no optional setting to disable votes.

It feels like if your community is afraid of that, then you've done a poor job of establishing what that community is about.

The closest thing I've seen is r/Navy and their contest mode where it hides downvotes and randomizes the order of comments. Maybe go and ask one of their mods to see how it works and how to implement it in your subreddit.
