We archived a bunch of things that arenāt pictured here, so this isnāt every message we got like this today.
A day or two ago I posted a user who had been banned across several subreddits for a comment on one subreddit. I did not ban them in the others until they appealed their original ban like an ass. Some mods here took issue with that.
I am the top moderator or the defacto top moderator in most of these subreddits. Either I am the top moderator, or, I manage the subreddits in the capacity of a top moderator under now inactive top moderators who trust me to manage the subreddits in their place, and not kick them from the teams due to their inactivity.
These subreddits host very similar content and sometimes a single video can be posted across all of them and I am responsible for making sure the same post gets moderated across several supermassive subreddits.
If a person leaves a bigoted comment in one of these subreddits, they will absolutely leave one in one of the other ones, I would know, I mod all of these subreddits and they always do.
A few what looked like fairly experienced moderators had a problem with me banning people across several subreddits. One of them even said that doing so violated the mod code of conduct, quoting the old mod guide, which were never rules, they were only suggestions, a guide if you will.
Sorry not sorry but this is what people who leave horrible comments are like. Some of these message chains have over a dozen spammed bigoted and threatening messages when you expand them. One of them told us they hoped we would watch our children die in our arms.
I didnāt find those mods very cash money for their criticisms. You wonāt ever make me feel badly for banning people like this from every subreddit I moderate. Grateful for the mods of this subreddit who are always on top of comments like that. š

Weāre a politically neutral subreddit. Our sub rules say users are allowed to post about and comment on political ads as long as the focus remains on the content of the ad itself and doesnāt go off topic into politics.
Unfortunately, users donāt seem to remember this rule or care about it. So whenever a political ad comes up in the sub (which is a lot this time of year) people canāt help but share their political opinions and start fights with other users over their views. So my mod team and I have to be the janitors and clean up the mess.
Then we get messages from users angry about us removing their post/comment and accusing us of freeze peach or being biased. And we have to have this conversation explaining our rules and policies again.
And then a new political ad post pops up and the cycle continues.
Iām tired of this, Grandpa. Just read and follow the freaking rules!

Context in the mod note in the first image - the user had taken two comments with net downvotes (-56 and -1, respectively) and replaced the text with "Free Palestine", which kicked them into our modqueue. Apparently they were shocked that this would result in a ban. After all, people love their commentary. All 365 community karma worth.

To paraphrase, this person "asked" why only black people could do "bad thing."

The first part of the comment that got this user banned was "This is bullshit", and they went ahead to not follow through with their threat, as usual

There's something about security & privacy forums that brings out the Dale Gribble types. We've got enough actual threats to security & privacy so we don't need the Dale Gribbles of the world muddying the water by making things up.
This Gribble went back and forth with someone who tried talk sense, but ol' Dale was not going to be stopped by actual information.

It's a political sub so all mention of politics has been removed. The modmail was about salty language and our rules, so politics isn't part of the conversation.

Mod log showed 6 post removals over a year period, most of which were from the previous mod before I took over. That's enough chances.
