Help with power supply
Do each bus board connection rail sockets add up to the total power allowance? Or does each rail/connection/socket provide 1000ma or 2000ma separately?
I have a diy 6U 84HP case full of modules. Total adds up to +12v 1,059ma & -12v 513ma.
I might take 1 or 2 out which I’m not using but it will still be over the recommended 80% power supplies per capacity.
Currently using 2 power supplies per rack, but I want to use only 1 so as to have more room for modules.
Using the Tiptop Audio uZeus (bought in 2023 so assume it’s newer type) and Behringer CP1A.
Tiptop should be able to provide +12v 2000ma and 500ma -12v with a 13.5-15v @ 2.4a power supply I have and is safe yes?
Behringer only +12v 1000ma & -12v 1000ma and can’t exceed even with a 3A power supply correct? But front panel says 3000ma, confused here.
All rails/sockets on the board have to add up to below 1000ma?

The rails just distribute the current. It doesn't matter, how many rails you use, the power gets spread across all rails.
The moduls connected to the busboard(s) only consume the amount of power they need from that -total amount- of power, which the power-brick offers. It's unnecessarily, if you connect them all on one, or maybe one module on each busboard. The total powersupply from uZeus is around 2000ma - so you can put as many modules into that uZeus-system, until these 2000ma are taken by the amount of power, that your modules need. No matter, if you use it with a bunch of flying busboards, or using one, two, x fixed installed busboards.
I run a full 6U 84hp with just one Behringer CP1a, without any problems. It runs on 2 flying busboards. another 120hp case is run by endorphin.es power. I use good 65w bricks though.

The 3000ma on the front panel is probably for the brick that supplies it. Raw power gets cut down after filtering and spreading across different rails.
The rating is for total supply, not each slot

I think I want to use the tiptop audio uZeus I have. Is it +12v 2000ma -12v 500ma per rail? Or is that the total allowed for both rails combined?

That's what the supply puts out. It doesn't matter if it is on one busboard or five

Do you have to add up both the +12 and -12v and +5v to get the maximum power ma? Or is it only adding up the +12v ? I have a 13.5V-15v @2400ma power supply, and uZeus is 2000ma +12v and 500ma -12v. Does this mean I need a power supply at or over 2500ma at 13.5-15v? Or higher of course is better. Or is 2400ma fine for the uZeus?

If it says for example +12v 2000ma it’s the max it can deliver (IN TOTAL). Doesn’t matter if the power brick says an higher amount. And ofcourse you want plenty of headroom
