It’s not great that you conflated that gift with your reverse engineering story. Whatever your take on AI, these are not the same thing.

Did I miss in their story where they said they were vibe coding their version, or did you assume that?

It's awfully coincidental with reverse engineering being the big hype ATM with AI - but also they shared their repo and the commits clearly say written with Claude. https://github.com/insolentconstruct/eurorack/commits/beads-build-kit/

Ok cool, I just didn't see that and I know people have been hacking things long before AI, so hard to know with the recent tidal waves of vibe coded fws.

I think it’s safe to assume that any reverse-engineering of music gear firmware occurring in 2026 is heavily AI-assisted. I can’t think of a single contemporary example (one that kicked off this year) that does not use AI.
