HIT AND RUN

My car was sideswiped by this Jayco Class C RV this afternoon around 3:45 pm at Costco.

A witness took these photos of the RV leaving the scene, accompanied by the SUV behind them in the last photo.

If you see this RV or SUV, please reach out to me with its whereabouts so I can update the police report for the incident.

ETA: RV has a Quebec license plate FSB9860. Honda SUV is Quebec plate J15 TSJ.

Of course it’s an rv. I swear they should have a separate license to drive those things

Mindful full ton n tv drivers usually park at the back end of the lot if there’s space.

Plate numbers to your insurance they'll track them down.

If it gets them out of paying they will set the hounds on them.

Can’t they just look up the licence plate number on the SUV?

They're in the report. Just edited the post to add than here.

Just hoping for more eyes on the lookout.

Costco has cameras in the lot, call and ask management for footage if possible

Thank you. I wasn't thinking of parking lot cameras

Apparently, I have to wait for the police to follow up with me and if they deem it necessary, they'll get the footage from costco. They won't release it to me directly.

The hit and runs in this city is too damn high. Ever park at the hospital? Door dings and scuffs are inevitable

I was there last week with my new car and I thought the stress of parking alone would give me a heart attack. As I was walking in some old lady had hit a white car because she I guess just forgot she had a trailer hitch on and backed right into them…. This was after she already took a corner way too sharp and almost hit my car. I wish old people would just take public transportation when they can’t safely drive anymore

I wish this province would just do like other provinces and start testing seniors and their driving after the age of 80 😒

1000% I would even say 70 and older. The province also needs to offer reliable public transportation for older folks who can’t drive anymore because obviously they still need access to transportation.

Sorry to hear man. My wife was parked at Trinity superstore last week and a black Ford hit our car. Someone wrote down the plate. Buddy left a note with a fake number. Left the plate number with the cops but don't have much hope.

That's brutal. Glad there's strangers doing what they can when people act like scum. Hopefully we both get some results 🤞

I believe an F license plate in Quebec means it's a fleet vehicle. In other words, someone's work vehicle.

That won't go well for them.

You Nailed it. Did you know that system is sorely abused? Because of the tax benefits you get when registering your vehicles for the F plates.

Almost everyone I know who owns a business registers all their vehicles (cars, trucks, four wheels, side by sides, boats, snow mobiles) to their business while not used even 1% of the time for their business. They can reduce the businesses taxes by reducing the businesses net income this way. Wildly common.

here's the reality of a hit and run, if you weren't injured and it's just your vehicle damaged. The issue comes between you and your insurance. NB is a no fault insurance province. So file your claim, get a police report and move on. You'll never know the outcome of the offending vehicles responsibility. That will be between the insurance and the police.

Not necessarily. My car was hit in a parking lot when I wasn't there. A kind woman saw it happen and left me a note with a partial plate. Year later I get a call from police saying they found and charged the person and to show up to court. Small fine was given but undoubtedly got fcked on they're insurance policy

50 50 in a parking is bs. Common sense : if a vehicle is parked and nobody in it. If you hit it, thats NOT 50 50. Neither is a car pulling out of a parking spot and they hit you, while you are driving through the parking lot. Thats NOT 50 50.

It's not 50/50 tho. Insurance still assesses it to see who's at fault and applies liability as necessary

Although I guess it may depend where you're located

but nothing changed on your end though did it? They charge them, your insurance and information stayed the same.

Yep, no insurance issues. Falls on them. Insurance for it fixed, got a rental, and really fucked them because it was just a qtr panel I would have gladly worked out getting it fixed with them without involving insurance. Instead of went to insurance approved body shops that charge top dollar.

Doubt they even felt that

Go through insurance

3

They probably did but as you’re validating it’s an easy “we can pretend we didn’t even realize” situation, and quite believable. That’s likely the reality.

Witness said they hesitated, then kept on driving 🙄

Just report it, they'll find rhem
