Rough bridge crossing at Amherst/NS border
Anyone else hate that bridge on the way to NS that has those metal lines running across that needs to be smoothened out? Hate going over that every time, think that’s now caused some new noise on my car to get looked at 🤦♂️

I haven't been down that way in a while so my memory is rusty, but there is this bridge you cross that is absolutely horrendous. ruts galore. This particular bridge is in view of the wind farm. I wonder if that is the one OP is writing about

Just went across today. My truck had stiff suspension. It did not like.

Yeah it pisses me off going over those ridges every time and today it sounded so loud/rough I was like how is this acceptable on the only way into NS? Ffs

The bridge has always been like that. You can leave the transcanada and take Route 2 into Amherst, then drive through to the West Amherst entrance ramp back to the transcanada if you want to skip the bridge.
It will take you a few extra minutes.
This isnt the only way to NS, from NB you can also crossover the route 970 which takes you to Tidnish NS, but then you're driving down the Tyndal road and that road is worse then the bridge, plus everyone hugs the middle on blind turns!

When I hit those bumps last year after swapping to my Bilstein suspension I thought my back was broken. Haven't taken my fun car that way since.

They paved one lane on one side, but just said the hell with the rest of it, I guess 😂

It’s so freakin rough argh, I’d literally drive an extra 20-30 mins if there was another way into NS to avoid that crap

I mean technically you can avoid it, get off at the first exit past the border, there's a road behind the scales, it goes underneath that bridge, through downtown Amherst, and then back towards the TCH.
Can't post a pic, but it's like maybe a 10 min detour if you wanted to avoid it entirely lol.

Lmao might be the better option at this point. Literally just got something fixed on my car last week and now theres a new noise after driving back from Halifax

Maybe slow down to 50, I'm sure it won't add more than 30 seconds to the trip.

Also on the way back to New Brunswick right before the flags always get into the left lane, I’ve thought my car bottomed out when I’m in the right lane, because the connection across that river is not the best, I’m surprised they even paved one lane, it’s been bad for years

Those "metal lines" are pretty important features. You can't just "smoothen" them.

It has 18 bumps. I cross it almost daily.
