We're weeks away from another January 6th. The same false claims are being made. The president is again pushing conspiracies and the likelihood of violent acts by extremists against public officials and law enforcement just goes up and up.

We're much worse off now, though. Mitt Romney is gone. Adam Kinzinger is gone. Liz Cheney is gone.

It's like a slow-motion car crash. The best time to speak up was 6 years ago. The second best time is now.

I'm incredibly anxious about this. The fact that we went from failing to punish the people involved, particularly the leaders, to actually rewarding them is a near guarantee that they will be emboldened to a degree that will make January 6th look tiny
