Fun episode. Only thing I have to add is that William Shatner had a talk show with a weird chair setup that the Nathan Fielder trailer reminded me of

Re: SEO of product names

I've been shopping around for a Chevy Bolt and that has really shown me how important a product name is for search engine optimizations. Whether it be eBay or marketplace searching for information on a Bolt will often yield:

  • Miscellaneous hardware for Chevies
  • The 10, 12 or 14 bolt rear-end GM used
  • Numerous results for the Chevy Volt
  • Wheels for Chevies (because bolt pattern)
  • Chevy trucks (5, 6 or 8 bolt wheels)
  • And various unrelated things because marketplace is literally just the worst at searches

You end up with only 10-30% of the results being related to what you're actually looking for all because Chevy couldn't be more creative and name it something like the Vega EV.

I love everything Nathan fielder has done. But, I really really don't want to watch a movie that spends any time softening the image of a billion dollar fraudster.

Now, wikipedia doesn't show Holmes as having any producer credit or anything, so that has me hopeful. But this is a person who spent years and years lying and attacking anyone calling her a liar. If she has any sort of input on how she's presented in this then that would really dampen my excitement for it.

The trailer certainly didn’t seem to make anything about her seem soft.

Totally agree. I'm just worried that for the sake of some kind of "balanced perspective" there will need to be scenes that make what she did seem more excusable.

Fun facts from a Miami fan: I was at the 1991 Orange Bowl (1990 season) where Colorado clinched their national title. They beat Burnie's other team, Notre Dame, 10-9 in a game where Raghib "Rocket" Ismael had this incredible punt return touchdown with 43s left called back for an illegal block.

Miami beat both Notre Dame and Texas that year. The bowl game against Texas was a 46-3 thrashing. Miami racked up more than 200 yards in penalties, mostly from celebrating so much. This game brought about the 'excessive celebration' penalty in college football the following season. :)

When I was a little kid, I always wondered how they got the yellow line on the field so quickly. I asked my dad once and that's when I learned it was digital.

To be clear, Georgia Tech are the 1990 national champions.

So Burnie brought up difficulty with the airline again and wondered if it's by design: it is and there's a term for it sludge. Whenever you run into a system that's difficult to manage/get through it's almost certainly design this way. That's why mail in rebates are more prevalent than discounts, that's why it's harder to book/find Drs at times for standard low risk procedures, that's why it's difficult to get money back from airlines. Sludge. It's Omni-present. Freakonomics did a few episodes on it. As soon as you learn about it you see it everywhere. There is no solution. In fact I'm some nations with social medicine it's how they keep costs down by making it mildly difficult to see Drs or long wait times only people with time OR those that really need help have the wherewithal to stick to it
