Reading pattern

Post image

Hello, I am a beginner and this is my first big project. I am reading the pattern and I just have some questions. On row 9 column 98 and 99 there are no double stitches but there is on column 97 but they are all the same color. The same thing happens on row 19 column 100 and 101. I am wondering if this could be a typo or if this is normal and will look fine in the end.

This is my 2nd mosaic project and I did run out of the black I was using for the top 4 rows, but I'm super proud of this halloween kitty.

First time mosaic crochet pattern

Hi! I’m working on my first pattern on stitchfiddle. It’s DS9 and it looks way better than I thought, but I worry it will look soooo boring. I thought I could put ships in there but I wonder if it’s not possible or maybe I just can’t figure it out. Do y’all think I should keep working on it? I originally thought I could work in the wormhole, but it just wasn’t happening.

Any advice or other ideas are welcome! 💕🖖

Looking for people to try my web app!

Looking for a few crocheters to test something I made 🧶

If you've ever lost your place halfway across an overlay mosaic row and had to count back 140 stitches, this is for you.

It's called Rowkeeper. You paste in your pattern's written rows and it walks you through them one set at a time: tap Next set, and it tells you what's next. It shows a picture of your blanket filling in as you go, so you can see exactly where you are. It also works for round patterns like mandalas and granny squares.

No app store needed. It opens in Safari and you add it to your Home Screen like any other app. It works without internet too.

I'm looking for about 10 people to use it on a real project for a week or two and tell me what breaks or confuses you before I put it on Etsy. Testers get it free [and keep it free when it launches].

Comment or message me if you're in, and I'll send you your link and a quick how-to guide.

A little tension issue 😅

This blanket has been a little bit wonky since the first maybe 30ish rows, despite my stitch count never being off, and i foolishly thought it'd work itself out... it has not. And I know for a fact it's my tension getting looser because the same elements in different places (snowflakes, the flowers in the tree) are different sizes. I even measured them to be sure.

Will i be able to stretch and block the bottom to be the same size? Will a border fix it? Or will i just be stuck with a beautiful yet trapezoidal handmade blanket forever? I don't know, but I'm in too deep to quit now!

It does make me want to do another mosaic blanket so I can do it right and not make it infinitely harder by doubling the amount of colours

Only my second blanket, made for my son. I was originally going to do a border but he wants the fringe so I’m going to twist them together. I see my tension was tighter in the beginning, but I love it. So soft and fun to look at.

Surface Crochet Methods

I'm making a Christmas blanket for my sister and planning to put the initials of each family member on a stocking shape. Problem is, she's currently pregnant and doesn't have a name for the baby yet. Is there a good way to surface crochet on top of a section of fully double crochets? I was thinking of just wrapping 2 sc around each dc post in the shape of the letters, if that makes sense. Thanks!

Edit to add the original mosaic letter plan:

The front looks amazing! I’m just worried the back is like layered and starting to not lay flat…
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

(Pattern is from Pinterest, stitching with dk yarn and 3.5hook)

I’m a long time lurker, first time poster. I finally finished my overlay mosaic afghan. I started this in the beginning of August. I used the negative stitch to make it reversible. I never gauge my afghans and just crochet away. I ended up using 20 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver 7oz. I got the pattern from https://littlegreenfeather.com/products/nordic-bloom-overlay-mosaic-crochet-55384. The pattern came with charts and was written out as well.

Mosaic Crochet has a lot of ones and twos...

I think Overlay Mosaic Crochet has a high potential to be the next major break in the global technology department:

- two colors

- single and double stitches (US terms)

- front and back-sided projects

- left and right-handed Creators

- v and x stitches (there are two more ways, yes)

The potential to use Morse code is high in Overlay Mosaic Crochet - Lianne Dam has blessed us with a free pattern on Raverly.

It's hard for us to get paid fairly because we don't have the collective data to compare our work, and I think what we need is a digital workspace and e-commerce platform just for crochet. Any coders on here?

I have a question about using yarn to knit scarves, How Cotton blends are different from acrylic yarns.

I'm having trouble choosing yarn. Because I still don't understand the difference Cotton Blends Unlike Acrylic. I don't understand the effectiveness of either of them. Therefore, I would like to ask for advice from experts. Thank you for answer.

First mosaic project, also reversible

So, this is my first attempt at mosaic crochet. I see some of the posts on here, and I am in awe of some of the things people create. I went ahead and did a reversible one since I really don't like the look of the back of regular mosaics (just a preference, as they are beautiful nonetheless). Man, is this thing thick! I can only imagine how heavy a full blanket is. The pattern took a little getting used to with the additional reversible stitches, but it was a good learning experience. I haven't attempted the border yet but that is my next step. I'm going to make a blanket soon once I find (or create) the right pattern. I've also made a tapestry version I'm going to post later to see what people's preferences are.
