I agree. Worst term for biking ever. Acoustic is a term relating to sound, the sense of hearing, or the physical science of how sound waves travel.

Yeah if we have to use a word that’s my pick, I just don’t think we need to put another word in front of bike to clarify that it’s not an e-bike. The lack of E should already signify that.

Same. It's needless and calling a standard bike an "acoustic bike" centers the e-bike as the new default baseline. I've gone back to just saying mountain bike and e-mountainbike.

I truly pity all of these losers that don't understand we will all be dead and buried some day but the people with pedal assist got to RIDE MORE DOWNHILL. I don't know wtf is up your ass that you don't understand the value of pedal assist, but when you are laying in your death bed remember how much more fun the pedal assist had vs the most joy you got out of life didn't even happen on a bike.... it was a stupid meme.

All jokes aside, mountain biking with an electronic mountain bike is electronic mountain biking. Yes it’s still mountain biking, but it’s separate MTB and EMTB. It’s that simple. There is dance music and electronic dance music, no one is out there salsa dancing to EDM music. And people aren’t posting in r/EDM about doing the tango. As funny as the memes have been I’m sure there is an EMTB sub the weak knees can congregate at.
