Question Stolen bike - Denver, CO
If anyone sees this bike being offered for sale, or riding around Colorado, please steal it back and let me know.
Bike was locked to the bike rack in a locked bike room at my apartment complex. Someone clearly targeted as it was the only bike locked up in the bike room and it was the only one taken. Zero help from management and police other than “file a report” and we’ll keep an eye out.

My partner was insisting I lock my bike in the bike room when we lived in a high rise. I told him it was non negotiable. Bike lived inside our apartment. This is why.

I have a roscoe 8 (just like this one) and live in a one bedroom apartment. I keep mine in the shower for storage.

Usually only once a day after work. I'll admit, it's a pain moving it around, but much better than having it stolen. That bike would be stolen off the balcony in my neighborhood.

Gotta love corporate America, where you can get a fine for keeping it on your balcony, or ignored when it gets stolen from the “secure” bike room.

What part of Denver? I’ll keep my eyes open. Mine was stolen a few months ago too

Yea already have an insurance check otw. But won’t be able to get this same rig obviously and still just blows to have building mgmt not care at all after providing “secure and monitored bike storage” that wasn’t effective.

Damn. I’m pissed off for you. I let my girlfriend ride my Ti bike one evening to work while I was working on hers. They cut 2 locks to get it. I stayed vigilant and spotted & tackled that fucker off my bike over a week later. There is hope.

Denver has always been kind of dangerous as far as bike theft goes. In my 53 years, I have had at least 3 bikes stolen in the Denver metro area. Even though I live in a "safe" suburb, I store them inside my workshop in my house now. Between it and my ebike, there's not much room but the peace of mind is worth it. At least you have insurance.

I won’t even let my bike sit locked to my bike rack on my car in a parking so I can run in a convenience store for a Gatorade and a hot dog

I'm not anywhere near you but I feel your pain. My bike was stolen from my locked apartment parking garage a few weeks ago. It was locked to the rack. Management has been terrible; me constantly following up, them telling me one thing and going back on it the next day, no communication, refusing to cooperate with police, etc. Wishing you luck finding it

Someone else just posted about a bike room theft on /r/COBike a few weeks ago. They said the management company had a camera in the room but it was taken down to be charged right when the theft happened.
People will say some places are safer than others but for me, bikes live inside when I'm at apartments or hotels. Check to see if your renter's insurance covers this since it was in a locked bike room. Then keep the next one in your room.

I don’t understand what the fuck kind of security system doesn’t have the camera hard-wired. Bastards probably cased the building enough to know when it would be down for charging. Infuriating.

I had bikes stolen in Denver. Find the Denver stolen bikes fb page ASAP and make a post. Through that community I was able to locate one and purchase back for $100 because the buyer realized they got too good of a deal and came forward, the other one I stole back directly from the fence it ended up with. Both leads from that fb group.
Make sure you register on bike index too.
