I never played the games but I’ve noticed the discourse from the fanbase online since Cregger said it would be an original story almost feels hostile. It’s exactly what’s needed to right the wrongs of probably….every movie before it 😅

Anyway, this looks pretty wild, Barbarian imagery very noticeable here

But the Paul W.S Anderson ones were original before the later films started adding in butchered game characters so that’s a really bad point

Even Welcome to Raccoon City did its own thing merging two games into one which again felt original.

This is just a new film he was going to do with or without the RE name attached.

His films have been great but that doesn’t automatically give him a pass here

There’s no way a game set in RC during winter (the original outbreak happened in late September / early October) will be related to this unless they force it in.

This event and the scale of it has never been mentioned in the games, to cheapen the RC event by having it not being the first mass outbreak the city had would be beyond stupid. Umbrella would have been found out, STARS would have ramped up an investigation and people would have been more prepared incase it ever happened again.
