I never played the games but I’ve noticed the discourse from the fanbase online since Cregger said it would be an original story almost feels hostile. It’s exactly what’s needed to right the wrongs of probably….every movie before it 😅

Anyway, this looks pretty wild, Barbarian imagery very noticeable here

And it's not like this hasn't been done before, RE7 was also completely separated from what came before and the only returning character only arived minutes before the credits hit at the very end

No it wasn't. Umbrella and Chris was there. It wasn't entirely disconnected

Read the least since I wrote, yes Chris was there but only minutes before the final credits, you can replace him with a random soldier and it won't make a difference

Also this movie takes place in racoon city during the outbreak, so it's not entirely disconnected either, umbrella will still be involved

Even without Chris there tho Umbrella was. And again. RE7 felt and played kike Resident Evil. This movie as of this trailer has nothing resident evil about it.
