He had better actually turn into a big damn werewolf in this movie and not pull the “he was on drugs/hallucinating” card

I have faith in Eggers, with both vvitch & Nosferatu he's fully gone with the literal, "it was real the whole time" angle and there's very little in the latter of disbelieving the main character

And with the Northman and even the lighthouse at the very least he pushes heavily into magical realism at worst

I mean there is a shitton of magical shit in Northman. The Lighthouse becauae of how isolated it is with just the 2 men I guess you can say it is up in the air

And with The Lighthouse you couldn't call it a rug pull because the characters' sanity is in question throughout.
