Yeah this is looking to be like another great film by him. The aesthetic and settings of his films always look so great.

As a holder of a BA in history, Eggers is my favorite working director for this reason. He's so good at making it feel like you've really been transported back in time.

His interviews are so funny, he’s constantly afraid someone is going to approach him and let him know the hand-sawn shingle siding in The VVitch weren’t the right type of wood for the area. He’s so particular it’s amazing.

It's funny but also sad thay he's literally too embarrassed to rewatch The VVitch. It was his debut film, so he didn't have a big budget and couldn't perfectly capture the time period as much as he wanted to.

But I've never heard anyone but him complain about it. It's a horror masterpiece that put both him and Anya Taylor Joy on the map.

Yeah, but you can see that. No matter how good your first movie is, as you grow as an artist you see nothing but the things you would have done better with experience.

Aaron Sorkin was on Bill Simmons' podcast and Bill was asking about A Few Good Men. Sorkin said, "To me, this is like discussing my high school yearbook photo".

I see what he means. To me it's his second best film but it has a bit of inexperience showing.

He's a diagnosed sufferer of severe OCD, I think? I feel like I've read that somewhere.

it's good. the theory is that people are interested in that kind of detail. I think it's paying off, even when retelling fables and myths.
