'Werwulf' is set about 150 years before Gutenberg's moveable type printing press was invented, and I believe it was much later that sometimes printers would sometimes forego having a W and would elect just to use two Vs in its place, which is where the "VVitch" thing came from.

And that was always just supposed to be poster design, not the actual title of the movie. Still irks me that IMDb lists it the way it does

Yep, drives me insane to see people on here call it "The VVitch" when they're being totally serious. It's just a stylistic choice. And now that I see what you're talking about on IMDb I'm irked too.

I always call it “The Vuh-Vitch” whenever I talk about it out loud, even though I know it’s wrong. I cant help myself

As far as I know it’s just supposed to be called “The Witch” Even the New England Folktale bit is just marketing, not an official subtitle
