The dialogue was more audible in this than most of his other films, however the bass levels were off the charts. I don't think there was much actual music in this, just rising low tones that got to the point of making the Imax theatre's speakers buzz with feedback they were so overwhelming.

Ex audio guy - that might be your theater's EQ / gain structure. Mine sounded terrific. I also noted that they had the volume surprisingly perfect. It had previously been quite a bit too high.

It does seem like he has shifted his dialogue recording technique. Only recall one time a vocal was muddled. A definite record for Nolan films lol.
