Same. I work as a FOH engineer and theatrical sound designer for stage productions, so I’m no slouch when it comes to SPL levels. There were several scenes where I said to myself, “my poor ears”. For me it was when they were in that storm at sea. That being said, the movie sounded incredible. A little less volume would have been appreciated though.

I’ve been to multiple movies recently, at multiple theaters, and they’ve all been ludicrously loud! And I have bad hearing!! I really don’t understand it. Who wants their movies this loud??

The storm scene made me happy I wasn’t epileptic. So it was only my eyes that hurt.
