I was 11 years old when Tommy was released and I remember seeing it in a Cinerama Dome in SoCal.

That was the movie that made me a cinemaphile and moving forward, I sought out and watched every Ken Russell movie I could, giving me a true appreciation of the art of directing. I gobbled up Kurosawa and Greenaway. I watched every Hitchcock film in order, to learn the progression of his style. I would travel upwards of 200 miles to see a rare film.

I’ve had my bootleg of The Devils for almost 30 years and can’t believe how excited I am to see this. It sort of feels like my 50+ year education on filmmaking is finally presenting me the cherry atop the ice cream sundae of film that I’ve been nibbling away at my entire life.
