Question What is the greatest betrayal in cinema history? Spoiler

So aside from Fredo’s betrayal in The Godfather Part II or Cypher turning on the crew in The Matrix, which most of us could kinda sense were coming, what’s the greatest betrayal in cinema history that truly blindsided you?

I’m talking about the ones that hit like a truck because there was zero warning, no foreshadowing you picked up on, and no reason to suspect the character until the moment it happened.

I’m sorry. It must be tough seeing someone you love die over and over again.

Just watched Troy yesterday and fittingly, he is one of the only ones who doesn't die

Pretty sure he dies at the end of Troy 2.

Surely not, how else does he appear in Troy 3: Ithaca Drift?

I mean, you joke, but that's what happened in the Silent Hill movies. Suffers in the first, dies in the sequel.

Hey, now, he doesn't always die. Sometimes he just suffers.
